Today I replaced the thermal expansion tank on my hot water heater. It was a bear to get the old one off. However, now that I have the new one on, it looks like the female fitting may have a small crack that is leaking (it is a very small, slow leak...one drip every 5 minutes), from when I took the old one off.
Can I repair this or does the fitting need to be replaced (if it needs to be replaced, I guess I need to call a plumber...so much for do-it-myself)?

Thanks.
