    Ktichen Sink Venting

I am remodeling my kitchen and want to move the kitchen sink. The current sink is vented through the wall up to the attic stack. I am moving the sink about 3 feet over and was considering loop venting the sink instead of busting up the walls, going into the attic, and tying into the existing vent stack. I saw a post in April 07 that talked about doing something similar but it eluded to not doing what I am considering but the guy who replied also included a picture: http://spammanwhat.150m.com/loopvent.jpg

My question is, is loop venting appropriate? I am in northern Lake County Illinois (the guy who responded was a Chicago plumber). I can get into the attic but I would love to avoid that if I can.

    Thanks!

Your link is not working for me however; the Illinois State Plumbing Code does permit loop venting for a kitchen sink.

Call the plumbing inspector for your area and ask; if you can install a loop vent, he might even give you the web site that shows what is permitted by code.

Your link is working and the drawing is correct, the only thing is they might want a cleanout on the vent pipe, so check.
