Candle Wax in Drains

Postby PLUMBILL » Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:00 pm

Im amazed how offen this happens when a person pours Hot Candle Wax down a drain, maybe they think this is safest thing todo with the hot wax.:(

Things not todo are use chemicals, drain cleaners, air guns or even a plunger they will most likley compound the problem.

The best and only way to remove this stopage is to remove the P-Trap because; the wax congeled in the trap as it hit the water, from here it is easy to remove the wax. :)

Chemicals, drain cleaners, air guns, plunger are good not to use.removing the trap is the good idea for removing the block unless you don’t do, the wax remain present in the drain.

As soon as the wax hits the water in the trap it turns solid and will not travel into the drain past the trap. :D

This is the season for Christmas candles and will have a few calls concerning this matter.
