Gas line code for NYC?

Postby ribo » Tue Mar 11, 2008 1:09 pm

Is there a code for the distance a gas line has to be from the sheet rock in an interior wall. Can it be flush against it, 1 inch away, 2 inch away.etc

Thanks

Before the "New code" the old code still in effect called for 3/4" past the wall Personally I go 1" past the wall so I can hold back on the pipe if I have to change the gas cock

ASK the plumbing inspector in the bough your in to be sure or call 311
